Hello everyone!

Today I wanted to present an object of curiosity, discovered by chance, relative to a python script that will help us in this "experiment".

As you may have guessed from the title today I will show you a curious thing: how to call a telephone (fixed or mobile) with a simple MP3 file!

You know in fact that the phones (cell phones this method not work) using a coding system to identify which numbers compose, this system is called DTMF . In practice

You enter a number over the phone you have this fixed the sound produced by each of the numbers? Here is what is the system used! Each number corresponds down two fixed frequencies that are emitted simultaneously. With this system, the phones are able to "understand" what number we typed!

I found the frequencies corresponding to each number, thanks to Wikipedia (link above) and I created, thanks to Audacity , files that match the sounds that the phone beeps every time you press a number.

then I wrote a Python script that you type a phone number, concatenate the various sounds and create an MP3 file! Take that file created, bring close to a telephone fixed, lift the receiver and run the MP3 file at full volume (with the receiver as close as possible)! You'll see that hopefully will start a call to the selected number!

gtkCodiceFiscale 0.0.3 Released

Good evening, everyone!

E 'with great pleasure that I announce the release of version 0.0.3 of my little program gtkCodiceFiscale !

What gtkCodiceFiscale (gtkcf)?
gtkCf (gtkCodiceFiscale) is a program written in python with the GTK (glade-python extension) that allows you to easily calculate your tax code. For a summary

As you start the program?
Once installed (with the command sudo dpkg-i gtkcf-0.0.3.deb ) the program should be on the menu Applications => Accessories. Otherwise, the command to be run (in terminal or via Alt-F2) is gtkcf

What has changed in version 0.0.3

• Added the function to calculate inverse of the Tax Code, by entering a valid social security number, the program calculates all the data back to find full name, sex, date and place of birth. Obviously, data such as names are multiple and the program will show it all!
• Fixed a bug in the calculation (occurred only in some cases "rare")
• Fixed two graphic details

What to expect in the next version?

• Accommodation of any bugs in the GUI Improvements
• control with warning in the case of newly installed version
  
• Protocol Implementation gtkcfs (gtkCodiceFiscale server), a small python server which receives requests from various clients (included in the program), processes information and sends all data processed with your program. I do not want to give too many details! Eliminate the element of surprise!

Good afternoon to all potential readers!

Today I came across a site, thanks to the advice of a friend, that allows the sending of free SMS messages from mobile phones. Just logged on to their site.

now started the 'hacking' to get around this limit (in fact if you try to access the site through standard web browser and the site recognizes the PC does not make us do anything).

So here come to the aid of a plugin for firefox: wmlbrowser

What does the plugin?
After installing the plugin adds a small, small button next to the URL bar in Firefox, which when activated, "confuses" the result by our web browser as if it were a WML browser (the one meant for mobile phones).

In this way we can connect to the site through standard web browser (which will be recognized as a cell phone) and send our SMS comfortably.

After opening the minimalist interface leaves no doubt about the steps to do: Enter your country of origin ("Your coutry"), or Italy, and under your phone number ("Your Phone Number").

Once the captcha will be sent an SMS to your number that contains a URL for the registration.

Here comes in the plugin!

Activate the plugin (click on the button of the plugin => On WML) and enter the URL in the address bar stated there nel'sms (very long URL!) At this point the site, confused by the plugin, you will detect as phone and will allow you to register on the site! Once registered you will have access to the site (always with plugin active) at the interface of the site, so clicking on the "Free text" can send free SMS messages and unlimited!

Considerations service
The service itself is good, the only thing is that in addition to SMS text there are a few advertising site ... that is how we used to send SMS for free!
