Calendars To Help Track My Period

Linux Day 2008 and blog: Part Three!

Hello to all you guys!

As I hope you've read here in TuxPress for Linux Day 2008 I am trying to set up a kind of "committee" to further promote exchange between Windows and Linux.

But now I need to know one thing: who is willing to participate? Why alone is impossible! And then we are many, many ideas would be great to combine with all (or at least a large part) for one day!

If you want to participate even commented that I take note of all names!

What will be done?

Well I think that once put together we must first organize on issues that deal on what to focus better, how to publicize the initiative, and more!

Any idea is welcome!

At this point let me know if you're interested or not!

Servuce Disconnect Request Letter

Operate a scanner!

Hello everyone!

Yesterday I needed for the first time since I have Linux to scan a document and I tried to run my scanner (HP 2200c Scanjket) and I did not succeed.
After several hours of research and installer / uninstaller get it to work!

We list the procedure I had to run!

First, you must have installed the package healthy (certainly should already be there) and especially his sane-utils package ! If you have not

:

sudo apt-get install sane sane-utils

At this point we check whether the scanner is recognized, we give this command: scanimage-L

The output should be something like this:

device `plustek: libusb: 002:003 'is a Hewlett-Packard Scanjet 2200c USB flatbed scanner

Otherwise it means that your scanner is not recognized!

At this point it is easy to scan a document, the command is as follows:

scanimage-d plustek: libusb: 002:003 - format tiff - resolution 300-x 215-y 297
> output.tiff

The part in bold, you must replace it by the output of previous command (scanimage-L).
Should not it just wait for the scanner: my first takes a little while to warm up and go! But soon you will see that part will create the file containing your scanned image output.tiff!

I hope I can be of help to someone!

Replacing Lock On Truck Toolbox

For fans of Boy! Ruby

Hello everyone!

Today I was doing cleaning my house when I found an old Game Boy Pocket of 96!
At this point I was reminded of one thing: on windows it was easy to find but on the Game Boy emulators for Linux?

Well I started looking first in the Internet to read opinions on the forums, and then doing a tour of the repository.

And here's the winner, the best emulator that I found was mednafen !

mednafen fact is an emulator (which uses OpenGL and SDL) almost all peripherals Nintendo and Atari!
does not have a GUI, command line works but is very easy to use.

Once you've downloaded the ROM gameboy just give the simple command:

mednafen nome_rom.gb

To install the program instead of just a simple command:

sudo apt-get install mednafen

The Roma are around the internet, just a google search with to find many!

With this software anyone can relive and play games once, what are now considered "bad" but in reality are the best ever!

In practice it's a shell ruby that works online, of course, the commands are to ruby!

When it comes to web 2.0!

If you want to have a shell like the one on your PC but then scaricatevi the "irb". The command is simple:

sudo apt-get install irb

Do you know about a python or other languages?

Please let me know in the comments!

What is missing in Linux?

Hello everyone! First

before writing wanted to apologize to all readers TuxPress for this article I had published on the easy money that GNU / Linux and that certainly did not fit very bothered. Please forgive me!

said that I wanted to do a semi-personal reflection.

Linux is no longer that operating system years ago that only "geeks" were able to use that system user-friendly .. not -street has come, and also so much!

At this point the question arises: What is missing in Linux ?

If we make a comparison with Windows (even if you hate it with all your heart all have used it and know it) who uses the PC will tell you just for fun "Games." This is true, play the section dedicated to GNU / Linux is very close, but on this front began to appear the first game of note (to name one Fligth Gear, clone of MS Flight Simulator, very well done)!

who normally use the PC at home would say it is difficult to install programs, but if we think about it is difficult to install software (only the first few times) because obviously we must learn to use systems such as S / Kynaptic, pacman, etc. etc. The compilation of sources is becoming increasingly easy with graphical tools (eg Kompile) that help in this process that sometimes makes us spend a lot of time to discover beautiful and have the package ready in the repository!

Even installing Linux is becoming easier, less "dangerous and destructive" and perfect (remember that there are also tools such as Wubi!)

Under the development environment and GNU / Linux has never disappointed and never disappoint.

So what's missing in GNU / Linux? If we think also in terms of drivers you are improving a lot! Now you know what's missing in Linux? Virtually nothing

Now it's up to us to know good for this operating system, and we should strive for so much help and give the rest.

Of course, I do not want a conquest of Linux world but at least that you know exists, know that is an alternative (indeed perhaps is the alternative)!

I hope that anyone of these "Philosophical thoughts" every time, otherwise I start to worry!

Convert script GreaseMonkey in Firefox extensions to

Hello everyone, and as usual good Sunday!

If you remember a few posts ago I reviewed some useful extensions for firefox, one of these was also the GreaseMonkey extension !

For the uninitiated is a GreaseMonkey extension that allows the installation (and creation) of javascript scripts executable only on certain URL! They are very fashionable
scripts that are used to facilitate login to check their information and others that are used to create "mini-menu."

The problem with a script greasemonkey is that, in order to function, needs Grease Monkey!

's why yesterday I started looking for a simple way to convert Greasemonkey scripts into Firefox extensions: and found it to this address .

This compiler allows you to put things on the Scripts (author, homepage, version etc etc) and create in a second round of our Firefox extension!

I found this site very useful because it works, it is fast and allows anyone to create an extension of "advanced" knowing just a little bit of javascript!

YouOS closes

I'm sorry to report that YouOS one of the most beautiful and functional operating systems online closes and ceases to exist.

the home screen you can read it (translated as best) "YouOS will no longer be developed, we will close to July 28. If you have important data transfer them elsewhere."

What to say? In fact the whole system can be downloaded in case some "big" will recreate a similar environment but I doubt we'll see YouOS still alive!

I'm very sorry because it was also a developer of apps in this beautiful OS! We'll miss

You can download them at these links:

download and unzip the file in the folder / home/utente/.gimp2.X/scripts /

Start GIMP and you will find the script in the menu "Scripts => Entertainers => Animotions => Rain" (it may also depend on the version!) .

Set your preferences and give the Ok!

Once the plugin has finished work save the image as GIF, animation, 100 milliseconds for each frame with "replaces"

Then you are a beautiful rain!

Cervix High Dry Soft Before Period

delko

Hello everyone!

Have you ever heard of "delko scripting language"?

For those who do not know him long ago, in a post , I presented my little scripting language created by me.

How does it work?
Delko is actually a python file that parses a text file (script "Delko") and executes the commands that it finds.
The interpreter is still an ELF executable files in order to make the interpreter faster and easier to install

How do I install?
Follow this post.

Code Samples:
And here's to the "true" for this post.
I created the code, but I'll explain how to use it!

And so that list delko some codes and their "translation" in python!

Ready? Go!

Python
print "Hello World!"

Delko:
echo "hello world!" As you can see in

delko to send a string to output not using the "print" but the command "echo" inherited from PHP.

Python
a = "hello" to print

Delko:
set to "hello world" echo
to

Here is a substantial difference: in python to declare the variable just put the variable name, the = sign and content. In
delko using the "set" command, the variable name and without the = sign puts the contents of the variable

Python

a = 1 b = 2 c = a + b

Delko:
sets to a set B

math 2 c a + b

In python it is easier to perform mathematical operations, in delko must use the command "math" that sets a variable (in this case, the variable " c) as the result of a mathematical expression.
But here is where the potential delko:

Python: a = 5

b = 2 c = a / b

like 2 c it as both a and b are int () and float ()!

Delko:

five sets to set B 2
math ac / b

delko Even in this case turned out to be 2 because it is derived directly from two int () but if you use the numbers directly

Delko: c
math 5 / 2

In this case c is no more and no less than 2.5!

Now, another important thing, the use of then:

Python

a = 1 if a == 1:
[tab] print "equal"
else:
[tab ] print "different"

Delko:

set to 1 if a == 1
then echo "They are equal" else

then echo "I am different"

Note two things first: if the python In

must end with the two colon (:) while Delko is not necessary. In python you must insert the tab in delko while you use the command "then". On the basis of occurrences generated the command "then" is repeated several times

Python
a = 1 b = 1

if a == 1:
[tab] print "a equals a"
[ tab] if b == 1:
[tab] [tab] print "b is also equal to a"

Delko:

set B set to 1 if a == 1 1

then echo "a equals a"
then if b == 1 then
then echo "b is also equal to a"

As you can see the use of " then "instead of the tab is even more convenient, as the codes are posting in forums, blogs etc etc the code remains intact and not one problem (how many times by copying and pasting code does python not the fault of the tab?)

Ok all for now, I hope someone will try my language so as to let me know if there are problems! For those who know python
there are no problems in learning delko, taking into account that Delko is a language "game", that is created on a whim, and certainly not powerful as the python!

PS If some things do not work, forgive me but I use a version of delko (being its creator) in testing which will be released soon!

Boxing Calisthenics Routine

lambda functions in python

Hello!

Today I wanted to explain what are the lambda functions in python!

In practice due to the short form of lambda functions we can write in-line, this way you save time and code is much more beautiful to behold!

Here is an example:

def raises (x): return x ** 2

This function passed to it as an argument a number (Variable x) returns the value squared.

That raises (3) = 9!

Let's see how we can do with lambda functions:

g = lambda x: x ** 2

As first
g (3) = 9!

lambda functions have been "inherited" from LISP, and I'm happy because with this method saves labor and lines of code!

I made just one example why I'm working on a small script with the "normal" and the features created by the method "lambda"!

screenplays for films with Celtx!

Hello everyone!

Recently I discovered a software very nice and well done that other blogs have already reviewed: it's Celtx, an application designed to write and maintain scripts for movies.

software because it allows us to write our own scripts for our short / movie / comic book and export them in formats used by real writers, all with a touch of class to our work! And let's face it: underneath all dream of making their own films!
addition, the newly installed program contains script (both long and short) to make us realize its potential!

software eye so I think based on Firefox! Change the interface of course, but the basis is that you can be sure!

I hope will be helpful to someone, maybe to make it to Hollywood!

do not know HTML

Hello everyone!

Today I wanted to talk to you (if you can call it that ') curiosity.
The other day I was reading an article on HTML (can not remember where) and I find the tag, even a little outdated, but I did not know!

Here are just some examples (the tag will be inserted between brackets [] for security):

  • Text [blink] text [/ blink] blinking text, tags, hated his brother as a marquee
  • Text [dfn] Text [/ dfn] Indicates a definition (actually similar to the tag [i] [/ i])
  • Text [kbd] Text [/ kbd] Indicates the input keyboard, looks like a typewriter!

You can find almost all the html tags to address this .

And I thought I knew the HTML leads to finger!

Linux Day 2008 & Blogs: Part Two!

Hello everyone!

days ago I suggested once again the "general public" my idea faded last year: that is to unite, coordinate with so many blogs that relate to GNU / Linux in the day of the Linux Day 2008!

Usho asked me in comments and updates will be done!

So I last year I started the bLUG! (Bloggers Linux User Group) project is currently "frozen".

I thought for the day linux you could write a series of articles or make available to any material useful for passing Windows => Linux, or simply help to try Linux in the live (we have to say that learning to boot from CD is almost scary the first few times: D!)

Another useful thing would be to combine and publish (with order etc etc) a series of links taken from our blog or on the web that may be of interest to those who want to get closer to Linux (just to mention a: the list of programs that OpenSource can take the place of those owners)

also something I'd really like to do is make clear the meaning of Open Source, Free software and other terms of family!

I really hope to be able to do something this year and last year to handle this event too late and I did not do anything special!

I hope he can really be of interest to someone!

Browser for mobile devices

Hello everyone and good Sunday!

While many of you will be at sea / mountain / lake / pool your ballot is behind the computer and I decided to list some browsers for mobile devices.
Will be listed browsers that work with both devices with Java, Symbian, Windows Mobile (yes even him)

Opera Mini
Official Site

Opera. The name of a promise.
The younger brother of the famous browser installed on any phone that supports java (all time) is something really nice!
can be displayed properly almost all the Internet sites (an exception is made for sites that contain material such as AJAX, quicktime etc) properly! Supports
mode, as I call it, the "screen shot" or the screen is "rotated" 90 degrees to improve visibility.

Card Summary
  • Name: Opera Mini
  • Version: 4.1 (stable)
  • Requirements: Mobile phone with java MIDP 2.0 CLDC 1.0
  • personal rating: 8
  • Justification: The best in my field, still lacks the 'implementation of AJAX (which is becoming more commonplace now). AJAX browser will be implemented as soon as this deserves the reputation it enjoys.
TeaShark
Official Site

really interesting project. Use
webKit3 for rendering HTML, more or less the same functions but with a little more Opera: uses tabs (multiple sites at once), recognizes automatically in a rss feed website (including the management of TeaShark Opera but I prefer it more)!
The only thing I envy is the initial interface in Opera: Opera has more style, also Opera always responds. TeaShark (being in beta) sometimes does not work.

Summary form
  • Name: TeaShark
  • Version: Beta
  • Requirements: Mobile phone with java MIDP 2.0 CLDC 1.0
  • personal rating: 8
  • Justification: Project very good, viable alternative to Opera (think also that work is something in the world ..). We hope for a stable release soon!
Skyfire
Official Site

Web browser for Windows Mobile.
recognizes just about everything: video, music, Ajax, QuickTime, and other bonus content!
Ideal for those who have a device with Windows Mobile!
Unfortunately I can not say more because I can not prove it!

Summary form
  • Name: Skyfire
  • Version: Beta 2
  • Requirements: Mobile device equipped with environment "Windows Mobile"
  • personal rating: 7
  • Motivation: Basically a web browser "normal" as the PC. I reviewed the first two, however, are installed almost anywhere, this requires a bit more. Handheld devices than phones! In addition to test must register and requirements, it says that you must have a U.S. telephone number. I can not prove if someone does that to me signals!
Safari Mobile
Official Site

With the release of the iPhone in Europe mobile Safari won the award for "most used mobile browser. And this figure does not provide the Apple but rather our dear friends through accurate analysis of Google. As
Opera Safari is also synonymous with trust, such as Opera behind a global market and one of the largest companies and "stronger" in the field of computer science.
It must be said that his popularity is due to the fact that it is pre-installed on Apple products!

Summary form

  • Name: Safari mobile
  • Version: Nd
  • Requirements: Device Apple
  • personal rating: 7 +
  • Justification: Although installed by default on the iPhone (which my colleagues reviewing bloggers are not good) you earn the esteem of the Google data.
Explorer Mobile
Official Site

Like this Safari browser also has to be preinstalled on all devices with Windows Mobile.
works with touch screen devices and enjoys some utilities common to all browsers mentioned until now.
Perhaps the bad reputation of his older brother does it take second place, but I never heard many complaints regarding this browser! If you do not agree
comment!

Summary form
  • Name: Microsoft Internet Explorer Mobile
  • current version I 7
  • Requirements: Windows Mobile Devices with
  • personal rating: 7 -
  • Justification: People who know that use this browser will not complain, but prefer to use something new and innovative.

Fine! I hope you enjoyed
This "document", in case you enjoyed, you have something to say / report also used the comments!

Greetings!

you've seen? Maybe! But better a news aggregator for Linux for a Windows (among other things: exist?).

The site still seems to be young (still a few sources) but what I liked the fact the site is that you should not submit the service in the blog (as I do) to be admitted: everything is optional!

I have loved, I hope others do so!
